
Judy Wright and her team won the Brunswick Heads Women’s Bowling Club Open Fours Championship held last week.
Judy and team members Jenny Meinel (third), Marcia Crichton (lead) and Bev Gawned (second) started well and were able to bowl their way to a strong lead, according to publicity officer Kerry Dexter.
Their opponents Darilyn Guest (skipper), Eveline Marks (third), Joy Kearney (second) and Sherril Pearce (lead) managed to fight back, but in the end Judy’s four ended the contest with a convincing win.
Mullum bowls
Last Saturday saw the beginning of the Mullumbimby Consistency Super Series, a four-week event with a prize pool of $1,000.
In Pool A of the handicap event Scott Hogan is in the lead followed by Geoff Flick, Ilona Pettendy, Trent Foreman, Michael Burke, Allan Bartlett, and Rose Wainwright.
Pool B sees Andrew Moroney leading followed by Michael Lardi, Shane Knight, Larry Henry, Adam McKenzie, Bernie O’Hearn and Mark Hogan.
In Pool C, Ian Weir leads, followed by Terry Fenwick, Mark Holton, Jamie Ewin, Ross Graham, Sean Doherty and Phill Brassington.
In Pool D, Mike Nicholls is the leader followed by Richie Northcott, Bob Rose, Clint Marsh, Ben Leeson, Troy Creighton and George McKenzie.
