Updated, 3pm: The Traffic Management Centre reports that all lanes of the Pacific Highway are now open at Mororo, north of Grafton, after an earlier car and motorcycle crash.

Original report: The Pacific Highway is closed in both directions at Mororo, north of Maclean, due to a car and motorcycle crash.

Emergency services are at the site of the crash, near Tullymorgan-Jackybulbin Road.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter landed at the site at about 2.30pm.

Its spokesperson reports that the 40-year-old motor cyclist is being treated by paramedics and the helicopter’s clinical team  and will be  be flown to Lismore Base Hospital with multiple leg fractures.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as traffic is heavy and there is no diversion.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
