It is true that for a small country like Norway distance and recharging of vehicles is not an issue as it is in Australia.
Some time ago I saw on television a car design that I think could be suitable for Australian conditions. When the battery ran flat in this car you simply reached in, lifted it out and replaced it with a charged battery. No tightening of screws, joining of wires or other procedure required.
Being able to carry a spare battery or maybe two with you on your journey should solve the problem of range anxiety.
