Many people know about the popular Kingscliff brewery, Earth Beer Company. But what you may not know is that the founders, Richie Foreman, Tom Lee Lewes and Zeke Hower have a long history of serving the Tweed and Byron Shires.
Richie, the main bloke behind the bar, has been a fire fighter in northern New South Wales for the last six years. When he isn’t slinging brews at the Brewery, Richie works with the Byron Bay and Alstonville Fire and Rescue Service to help put wet stuff on the hot stuff.
Tommy’s career started as a professional lifeguard in Byron before taking on a position with the Westpac rescue ‘chopper’. When you can’t find Tom on the ground at the Brewery, look to the sky where you might find him dangling from a helicopter, rescuing tourists and locals alike. If you need help in the surf, or with your thirst, Tommy has got you covered.
Family man Zeke is a former road construction worker who saw the light and chased his passion – becoming a brewer and learning the craft with Stone & Wood before joining Tom and Rich. He has two beautiful daughters with his wife, Shae, who holds down the fort as a nurse in the Shire. You can ask Zeke anything about beer and he will have an answer… or at worst a great beer to share!
Being a healthcare or emergency services worker comes with its ups and downs and Earth Brewery would love all those workers to come and enjoy 15 per cent off a brew every Sunday; come and debrief and reset the mind.
