It’s MardiGrass!

This year is Nimbins 32nd annual MardiGrass and you’d reckon by now ‘weed’ be left alone. The same helicopter raids, the disgusting, and completely unfair, saliva testing of drivers, and we’re still not allowed to grow our own plants. We can all access legal buds via a doctor, most of it imported from Canada, but we can’t grow our own. There’s something very wrong there.

A man has been charged with 26 offences following an investigation into alleged dangerous driving.

In January 2024, police from Richmond Highway Patrol commenced an investigation after receiving reports of dangerous driving in the Casino and Kyogle areas.

Following extensive inquiries, a 30-year-old man attended Casino Police Station on Monday, 5 February, 2024 to assist police with inquiries.

Police will allege in court that the man performed multiple burnouts and drove in a dangerous manner in a Holden Commodore sedan.

He was subsequently charged with 16 counts of prolong sustain etc loss of traction, four counts of drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, three counts of learner/P1/P2 licence holder use mobile phone while driving, and three counts of film etc vehicle operated contrary subsection.

He was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Casino Local Court on Thursday 4 April 2024.
