Tweed keeps rate increase below rate of inflation

Appeal to locate missing woman

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Kempsey area.

Mullumbimby Tennis Club Championships results are in, with Amadeus O’Connor winning the open men’s singles and Jamilah Bikoumou winning the open ladies singles. 

Club champs this year went well. We had good entries in the B grade singles and doubles.We also had good numbers in the junior events. Our entries in the womens were down but I am hoping some of the younger girls in our coaching program will step up over the next couple of years,’ Stephen Gort from the Northern Rivers Tennis Academy told The Echo.

In the B grade, Shareef won the men’s singles while father and son duo Yantra and Richard Whitling won the men’s doubles.

Director/head coach of the Northern Rivers Tennis Academy, Stephen Gort, told The Echo, ‘Amadeus had made two finals in previous years, so this was third time lucky for him to take out the open men’s event’.

He added, ‘The tennis club has an historical event coming up this year, and is hosting its first ever national open and junior ranking event.

‘This is a very exciting opportunity for the club to invite the best local players and travelling players to play our event. Entries open September 27 and the event will run November 9, 10, and 11’.
