A man and a woman have been arrested after a search warrant was executed in Bogangar.

In April 2025, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District commenced investigations following reports of drug supply at a home in Bogangar.

About 7.50am yesterday (Thursday, 24 April, 2025), police, with the assistance of Strike Force Soteria, attended a home on Forest Oak Crescent, Bogangar.

Police forced entry into the property and located a 60-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man at the location.

The man was arrested on virtue of an outstanding warrant for alleged traffic offences and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where the warrant was executed.

He was refused bail and appeared before Murwillumbah Local Court yesterday.

Concurrently, a search of the premises commenced where police seized 43.4 grams of methylamphetamine, 75 grams of cannabis leaf, 13.38 grams (55 pills) of MDMA, 54 x 8mg suboxone/buprenorphine strips, jewellery, four e-bikes, a bicycle, multiple mobile phones, and cash.

The woman was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where she was charged with

  • Two counts of supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity
  • Three counts of possess prohibited drug
  • Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance
  • Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle)
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 and less than $5,000; and,
  • Supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis

She was granted conditional bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday, 2 June, 2025.

District Inspector Matthew Woods says, ‘We would like to extend our appreciation to the community for their assistance. We will continue to work together to keep the community safe’.
