Road restoration works are planned at Lillian Rock Road, Salkeld Road, and Blue Knob Road Between January 2026 and April 2027, says Lismore City Council.

It’s part of Council’s recovery following the 2022 disasters, staff say.

Council said in a media release, ‘Contractor CMC Hull JV is restoring three damaged road sections on Lillian Rock, Salkeld and Blue Knob Roads, caused by the 2022 natural disaster’.

‘Once completed, these essential landslip stabilisation and road reconstruction works will restore long-term, reliable road access for residents of Lillian Rock, Blue Knob and wider Nimbin and Lismore communities, and visitors.

‘Works will occur within Lismore City Council’s standard operating hours of between 6.30am and 6pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm Saturday (if required.)

‘The timing and extent of these essential works can change due to weather and/or other unforeseen circumstances.

What to expect?

‘Traffic access will be maintained via single lane access at the locations indicated on the map, for the specified dates.

‘Heavy machinery will be in use which will create noise, vibration and possibly dust.

‘Essential vegetation management will be required with careful consideration given to our environment. This may also lead to an increase in dust and pollen.

‘Workers may include Lismore City Council team members, CMC Hull JV staff and various specialist sub-contractors’.
