Police say four people were issued infringements during Operation Rapina targeting anti-social and criminal behaviour across the Ballina area on Wednesday.
The statement reads, ‘In recent months, officers attached to Richmond Police District increased high-visibility patrols in areas including local shopping centres, public spaces, and public transport hubs to enhance community safety’.
‘On Wednesday 11 February 2026, uniformed and plain-clothes police held a joint operation with local shopping centres to detect and disrupt crime in the Ballina area’.
‘As a result of the operation, four criminal infringement notices were issued for shoplifting, and one person was issued with a Cannabis Caution for Drug Possession.
‘Similar operations will continue across the Richmond Police District. A big thank you to the community and local businesses for their ongoing support’.
