This Thursday, women and men of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to take part in the Reclaim the Night march in Lismore as part of the annual Reclaim the Night marches that happen around the country.

The local event has been taking place since 1988 and will be held at The Quad, 110 Magellan Street, Lismore from 6pm to 8pm. Reclaim the Night calls for a future where all women and girls can live free from violence, harassment and fear.

Keynote speaker is Madeleine West along with local speakers Beth Hamilton from Zonta and Marnie Davis from Women Up North Housing.

Reclaim the Night is an opportunity for our community to stand together, honour those who have been impacted by violence, and reaffirm that everyone has a role to play in creating safer and more respectful communities.
