A 20-year-old woman will appear in Tweed Heads local court today following a pursuit on the Pacific Highway last night.
Police said Tweed/Byron local area command officers tried to stop a white Ford Falcon traveling north at Minjungbal Drive about 11.30pm on Monday June 9.
‘When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit ensued to Panorama Drive, when the car allegedly collided with the front of a stationary police car, causing minimal damage,’ police media said.
‘The vehicle was driven from the scene; however the pursuit did not continue.’
Police located the car and the 20-year-old female driver at a park near Riviera Avenue.
The woman was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads police station where she was charged with offences described by police as, ‘police pursuit drive dangerously (Skye’s Law), unlicensed driver, stolen motor vehicle, failed to exchange particulars of a collision, and not keep left of dividing line.’
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Tweed Heads local court today.
