Evans Heads Marine Rescue have picked up the passengers and crew of a 50-foot boat that sank offshore this morning.
A spokesperson for Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter said it was called upon at around 10.50am to reports of a vessel in distress about a kilometre off Evans Head.
The vessel had six people on board, including children.
The spokesperson said while the helicopter was on route to the location the passengers boarded their life boat as the vessel was taking on water.
