Israel’s Operation Protective Edge destroyed or severely damaged 25,000 homes rendering 108,000 Gazans homeless.

Now Israel is calling on the international community to fund the rebuilding of Gaza but only with Israeli-made materials and only by Israeli construction firms.

No doubt Australia, like the US, the UN and Europe, will contribute taxpayer dollars to this rebuilding effort while studiously avoiding any mention of pursuing Israel for the costs of its outrageous and criminal vandalism.

Australia should refuse to be party to this blatant vulture capitalism and moot in the UN that Israel should be referred to the World Court and forced to pay up.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. Dontcha just love the israeli’s, They create a whole mess on the Gazza & then want the rest of the world to pay for it. Maybe they they think their Gods gifted children & to be rewarded accordingly, I’ve got my own ideas though… Oh, Did you know there’s more Jews living in the states than in Israel, No wonder nothing gets done fairly…..

    • Thank goodness the Israeli’s couldn’t give a rat’s ass about your and Gareth Smith’s opinions, or, to put it more accurately, opinionated observations.
BTW, the Echo rarely publishes my comments, as I question their almost total lack of criticism of Hamas in the Gaza situation.
I’ll include this Echo Net Daily published comment, just in case, to see if it will help slip my comment by the moderators (censors):
“Come back Hitler. All is forgiven. ”
      Classy, Echo.

  2. Political scientists and fullbore Zionists, playing Russian Roulette with your mind. Saying Israelite can smite Hashemitte, but he cannot react in kind. Is this anti-semetic? or an a’semetic? or is that stuff just Greek guff to you? Well according to Theo, you cant do that to Shem..but by George he can do it to you.

Youth crime is increasing – what to do?

There is something strange going on with youth crime in rural and regional Australia. Normally, I treat hysterical rising delinquency claims with a pinch of salt – explicable by an increase in police numbers, or a headline-chasing tabloid, or a right-wing politician.
