Lismore police have arrested a teenager on drug offences overnight after the car in which she was travelling tried to evade them.

At 2:45am this morning, police patrolling in Lismore saw the vehicle, which was known to them, ‘sight police then turn away quickly.’

They stopped the vehicle and allege they saw two people moving items around the vehicle, including ‘syringes and other items related to drug use,’ according to the report.

Police decided to search the vehicle. Inside a handbag they allegedly located 10 grams of cannabis and one gram of methylamphetamine (ice).

A 19-year-old Bora Ridge woman then spoke to police. She was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

She will appear in Lismore Local Court in April.
