The recent boiled water alerts for Uki and South Murwillumbah have been lifted by the Health Department yesterday.
This morning (Tuesday April 4), Tweed Shire Council received clearance from its water laboratory that all drinking water supplies are healthy.
Council had samples from all treatment plants and its pipe network sampling sites tested by its laboratory. It will continue to test water samples regularly throughout the flood recovery.
Residents on the reticulated water supply returning to their flooded homes for the first time are advised to run all internal taps until the water clears before consuming. If your water doesn’t clear or remains dirty, please contact the council on 6670 2400.
All sewer supplies are operational except for about half Tumbulgum village.
Contractors and council staff are working to access the Wastewater Treatment Plant today and restore services as soon as possible.
