Rinat Strahlhofer – Northern Rivers for Safe Technology, Ewingsdale

Dear Community Members,

After some reflection, I would like to share my experience on Monday at the Lennox Head 5G upgrade site…

Despite speaking with police and explaining community concerns around untested and experimental 5G infrastructure, the police were given orders to pave the way for the cherry picker to enter, forcibly moving protestors who were locking arms out of the way, so the technicians could commence work on the 5G upgrade at the water tank site.

It was devastating to witness the force of corporate powers over the people at the site yesterday.

As an Admin for the Northern Rivers for Safe Technology group, I would like to state that the purpose of this page is an educational portal first and foremost and a platform to engage in non-violent discourse and direct action. As members, we must unite as advocates for Safe Technology, not experimental technology that is proven to harm.

What we can all do now, is keep calling on our constituents to take the ‘Precautionary Approach’ until Telstra can prove safety. We can educate and inspire positive behaviour change with technology use. We can even lobby for a solution: Fibre Optics doesn’t need more mobile phone base stations to be built and it is faster, safer and more secure than 5G.

Please be aware, that still to this day there is no agency measuring the cumulative impacts of wireless radiation in our communities. Studies even show children absorb twice the radiation than an adult, so it’s no surprise that the majority of brave people that showed up to the water tank yesterday, did so for their children and grandchildren.

Moving forward, I believe we must meet in a place of respectful discourse so that each of us may feel inspired to support each other and the wider group – there will always be a next time when it comes to each of us choosing to show up and stand-up.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. You all had mobile phones. I saw the video on Instagram. Even the pregnant woman was on the phone. It was 2G, then 3G now 4G and soon 5G…
Let it go. It will be OK.
And I saw the enviro fairy there with her big white made in USA Jeep which is not the most green vehicle.

    • the brown cardigan clip was all time
the number defence against 5G is the prayer circle, don’t forget the drums

  2. It’s not untested or experimental technology, its well tested and proven technology. 5G technology is safe and does not have cumulative impacts. Some people have chosen to believe pseudoscientific reports some of which are propagated by nations intent to disrupt our democracy. If we were to apply a precautionary principle to everything in our lives we would have no cars, trains, planes, radio, TV, medicines etc.

  3. But don’t forget the many cars going past emitting 77Ghz from their lane correction and collision avoidance radar is far worse than the 3.5Ghz 5G or the 3.4Ghz NBN Fixed Wireless . Ban all new cars from dropping off children at schools like I believe they are thinking of doing at the Steiner Schools .
Also can we ban the Foxtel Satellites from transmitting us 24/7 with 27 to 40Ghz RF. NBN Skymuster satellites also rain RF down on us at 27 to 31Ghz 24/7.
In capital cities within Australia there MAY be a rollout of 26Ghz 5G but that will only occur if autonomous vehicles are wanted by the Australian public .
    Oh dear what a conundrum.

  4. Hi Rinat from Ewingsdale. You most likely had some protestors from Lennox but as you can tell by the comments so far there are a lot of people that disagree with your unsubstantiated claims. I live close to this water tower and have no issues with 5G going in.

  5. Few interesting points…
    1) “It was devastating to witness the force of corporate powers over the people at the site yesterday.”
    2) “As members, we must unite as advocates for Safe Technology, not experimental technology that is proven to harm.”
    3) “Fibre Optics doesn’t need more mobile phone base stations to be built and it is faster, safer and more secure than 5G.”
    4) “t the majority of brave people that showed up to the water tank yesterday”

Now… for those points I do have questions?
point 1 – you blocked a road illegally and were removed. Would you say the same thing if an invader got in your house and police wouldnt remove them because they were protesting something?
point 2 – proven to harm.. ok sure… where is the proof? I mean real proof, not some blog or theory… facts?
Point 3 – fast internet is not just home use… would you hook fibre optics to a car? how about an ambulance?
Point 4 – you are so vested in 5G yet, say nothing about 4G on water tanks, noting that 4G can penetrate objects better than 5G..

no one does research anymore… just hearsay and pub like conspiracy theories becomes fact… I am not saying you should not doubt what is fed to you… but we need real cold hard facts… not speculations… else I could claim that oxygen is bad for you just cause…

“EME is all around us and is part of our natural environment. It is emitted by sources like the sun, the earth, the earth’s atmosphere and even the human body.

…The EME in telecommunications uses energy levels that are too weak to cause harm. In fact, in the case of 5G, the EME from 5G devices cannot even penetrate skin. Examples of non-ionising radiation sources include visible light, common electrical appliances, radio, television and mobile phone communications.”

  6. I noticed a late model BMW 4WD with a large “No 5G” sticker on its back window , I presume the owner didn’t realise the vehicle emits 77Ghz and 24Ghz radar beams both fore and aft up to 250 metres. This car was parked near a primary school .
Most new cars have Lidar , Radar or other terms for 77Ghz collision avoidance or lane correction RF emitting devices .
If you object to 5G operating at 3.5Ghz then you will be horrified of the 77Ghz car radar . Helicopter parents dropping their children at schools in late model cars are spreading their RF fog amongst the most vulnerable.
So next time you see a Toyota, Tesla, Range Rover , Land Rover, Volvo, etc etc etc with “No 5G” stickers go over and tell them to turn off the Lidar/Radar system in their vehicle . https://sites.nationalacademies.org/cs/groups/bpasite/documents/webpage/bpa_062787.pdf
