I strongly disagree with the concept of a music venue in Banksia Drive. The suggestion by the owner putting forward the development application (DA) that the decibel level would not affect the surrounding residential estate is ludicrous – this is such a quiet peaceful area of a night, the loudest noise being the wonderful bird life. We occasionally hear music from the hotel or pop-ups in the Arts & Industry Estate but they are infrequent and respectfully stop at 10pm.
Amplified ‘electric’ music from 7am to midnight, seven days a week would be a nightmare that would affect hundreds of residents, who treasure the serenity of this suburb, let alone the wildlife.
There are plenty of venues for revellers already, this is just another greedy developer who has no care of how his plans influence people.
