A new campus four metres above ground is likely to replace the flood-damanged South Lismore Public School, with designs to be shared with the wider community this week.
The new height is 500 millimetres above the 2022 flood level, with the building to be supported by engineered flood resilient structures including lifts, ramps, and stairs.
An undercover walkway is to add to what are promised to be extensive undercover outdoor teaching and play areas.
Thirteen new classrooms, a library, multi-purpose hall, games court, and replacement of the Ngulliboo Jarjums Preschool also reportedly feature in designs.
The primary school and preschool are to share an entrance but to have separate play areas and toilets.
