A 69-year-old Brisbane man died on Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding crashed at Numinbah Valley, just north of Murwillumbah.
Police say the man, from Birkdale, was riding with a large group of recreational motorcycle riders on the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road around 1.20pm when his bike left the roadway and crashed into a culvert.
The man died at the scene and police investigations are continuing.
The road is regarded as a death trap for motorcyclists as it has claimed the lives of several riders in the past few years.
Saturday’s fatality happened almost a year after a 36-year-old motorcyclist died after losing control of his bike on the road.
