The anti-coal seam gas movement will be going to the dogs in Lismore on Saturday.

Knitting Nannas Against Gas are holding a ‘Dogs Against Gas Day Afternoon’ in Riverside Park from 12 noon.

The DAG day is a fundraiser for the NNAG international conference.

Nannas founder Clare Twomey said it would be a great afternoon for sociable dogs and their owners.

She said there would be a small fee to compete in classes including, dog most like owner, owner most like dog, best activist pet and stupidity trails.

There will be a sausage sizzle with vegetarian options and soft drinks available.

All dogs must be on a leash and please don’t bring anti-social or aggressive pets,’ she said.

She said small pets in cages were also welcome and there would be prizes for each class.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
