What an awful shame the illegal doof held in Mt Jerusalem National Park, overlooking Mullum Creek valley , Frasers Road and Left Bank Road this weekend (19-20 March) was.
A lovely peaceful site trashed, 24 hours of penetrating sound waves, locals upset and tourists leaving early.
Police seemed ineffective and understaffed, despite many, many calls for help. Sympathetic, but hey…
Shame on those who organised it. Those that attended, please think about the impact you have now had on the park and surrounding people.
It’s dangerous site, too, for nocturnal activities – one small step too far to the cliffs, and you’re gone.
Locals, if it happens again in a local National Park, call 66266931 for ranger response. Call the Police as well and insist on action, as they have more enforcement powers than they often admit to.
Name withheld, Mullumbimby
