A 46-year-old man was charged after allegedly threatened police and bystanders with a sledgehammer and pitchfork on Wednesday evening.
Shortly after 9pm on Wednesday 27, police were called to a house on Angela Street, Tweed Heads, following reports a man was making threats.
Tweed Byron Local Area Command officers attended and found a 46-year-old man standing on the road with a sledge hammer and pitch fork.
Police will allege the man was allegedly threatening another group of people while holding the weapons.
Upon being arrested, the 46-year-old man allegedly threatened the officers.
He was taken Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with affray, behave in offensive manner in/near public place, have custody of offensive implement in a public place, intimidate police officer in execution of duty and stalk/intimidate intend to fear/physical harm.
He was bail refused to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court yesterday.
