A man has been charged after a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine was seized during a vehicle stop at Coffs Harbour yesterday (Sunday, May 1).
About 3am, police stopped a vehicle on the Pacific Highway near North Boambee Road,.
They spoke to and searched the driver, a 53-year-old Cabramatta man, and his passenger, a 46-year-old man, before conducting a search of the vehicle.
During the search police allegedly seized a kilogram of methylamphetamine, an ice pipe and cash. They say the drugs have an estimated potential street value of $1 million.
The vehicle was also seized for further forensic examination.
The man was arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour police station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, deal with property suspected proceeds of crime and possess prohibited drug.
He was bail refused to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court.
