NSW Police say that yesterday a woman was charged after a firearm was located and seized during a vehicle search near Coffs Harbour last week.
About 9.20am on Thursday 10 August 2023, police from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended Martells Road, Urunga, following reports of an unauthorised protest.
At the scene police made inquiries with the driver of a Honda SUV, an 18-year-old female, and her passenger, a 17-year-old male.
Following a subsequent search of their vehicle, a firearm was allegedly located and seized by police, before the pair were released pending further inquiries.
Following inquiries, the woman was yesterday (Thursday, 17 August) served a Court Attendance Notice for the charge of possess unauthorised prohibited firearm.
The woman is due to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday 27 September 2023.
