Ballina Shire Council will be carrying out essential maintenance and repairs to a section of the Coastal Shared Path, south of Lennox Headland, commencing Monday 19 February 2024.

During these works a section of the Coastal Shared Path south of Lennox Headland will be temporarily closed to pedestrian and cycle traffic. The works are expected to be completed by Thursday 29 February, weather permitting.

The necessary works will include replacement of approximately 100 meters of footpath pavement, enhancing the safety and quality of the Coastal Shared Path for pedestrians and cyclists.

Contractors are also carrying out repairs to sections of the Coastal Recreational Walk from Sharpes Beach to Lennox Headland from Monday 5 February to Friday 8 March weather permitting.

Pedestrian access from Sharpes Beach to Lennox Headland will not be affected during these works, however pedestrians will be detoured around signage and machinery.

Ballina Council says it understands the inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding of residents as they undertake these crucial improvements.
