Nominations are now open for the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.
The Seniors Awards are an annual celebration of the positive contributions and roles of older adults in our local communities. The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Time to Shine’.
Now in its 67th year, the festival is the largest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, attracting over 500,000 attendees each year.
Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin is encouraging residents of the Lismore electorate to put in a nomination for the Awards.
Celebrating the positive impact of older people
‘The annual NSW Seniors Festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older people in our families and society,’ Saffin said.
‘If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution.
‘Nominations are now open for the awards program, one of many initiatives the NSW Government promotes to support the state’s seniors living happy, healthy, and active lives.’
By highlighting the continued efforts of seniors in the Lismore community, we can challenge ageism and empower seniors to overcome social stigma.
Award winners will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from 3rd-16th March 2025.
Nomination forms are available from the Lismore Electorate Office at 55 Carrington Street, or by emailing [email protected].
Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, 21 February 2025.
