Possum Shoot Road at Myocum will be temporarily closed for landslip repair work from mid-April, says Byron Shire Council.
They say, ‘The landslip occurred on the road in the 2022 flood and repairs will include stabilising the embankment, repairing road pavement, and installing new safety barriers’.
‘The road which joins up with Coolamon Scenic Drive and Myocum Road, will be closed to all through traffic for approximately three months and road users are asked to detour via Coolamon Scenic Drive or Myocum Road.
‘To do the repair work safely we need to temporarily close Possum Shoot Road for around three months. Access will be available for residents and emergency services only and we thank everyone for their patience,’ Phil Holloway, Director Infrastructure Services, said.
‘Possum Shoot Road residents will have their weekly waste collection service picked up near the Coolamon Scenic Drive and Possum Shoot Road intersection. Electronic signage will be in place to provide up-to-date information throughout the works’.
More information about disaster recovery work is available on Council’s website.
