Tea for One
Following a mammoth year of recording and touring in Canada and Australia, Jeff Martin hits the road in solo acoustic mode touching down at the Byron Brewery this Saturday.
Don’t miss Jeff Martin, armed with a bunch of new material under his belt, as he performs around the country this autumn. Expect to hear acoustic versions of tracks from The Ocean At The End, as well as some classic Tea Party – and the odd little surprise.
The intoxicating Spirit of Dustin Thomas
Renowned for his infectious blend of beat-box/soul folk and armed with a voice, a guitar and universal anthems of love, faith and war, Dustin Thomas continues to inspire hearts around the world on his mission of music, joy and peace.
Dustin explains: ‘I started writing these songs last year while living in Byron during the time of the Bentley Blockade. It was powerful and inspiring watching a community come together and stand up for their rivers and waters and aquifers.’
Both these trail-blazing acts join other select musicians and ceremonial creators for at the Mullum Civic Hall on Saturday.
Happy Africa
Want to get into the spirit of Africa? Reggae music, west African dancing and drumming and world music? Then come along this Saturday night to the Byron Youth Activities Centre. A drug- and alcohol-free event for the whole family. Tiki Taane on Stage
This humble talent with just his guitar, his loop pedal and his sensational voice has the ability to provide acoustic mashups and remixes that will blow your mind.

Bombastic Rock Explosion
Samskara Radio is a bombastic psychedelic rock explosion, haunting and bitter-sweet, euphoric and transformative. The project is by Simon Marrocco, who is predominately known in Australia as a yoga teacher, but as a songwriter he has been collaborating with Jeff Martin, legendary producer and frontman of the band The Tea Party to create the album Samskara Radio. A Week With Grabowsky
Northern Rivers Conservatorium welcomes Paul Grabowsky as their Artist in Residence in March. Diploma students will receive around-the-clock attention with Mr Grabowsky. Uke Nights March with Gospel
This March, Miss Amber and Stukulele’s Uke Night does gospel – with special guests Jessie and Emma from The Lucky Wonders, who are also leading the massive Raise the Roof Gospel Choir, plus local ukulele singer/songwriter Renee Searles and Gareth Baajland from The Pitt Family Circus and The Barkers Vale Brothers on banjo. Man and Guitar
Until the mid 1930s an Australian guitar manufacturing industry was virtually nonexistent. Good quality guitars were hard to find and at this time the best guitars came from the USA. Bill May, a Melbourne-born jazz musician, woodwork teacher and luthier decided to change all that. Maton is a 100 per cent family-owned Australian company, renowned for their ability to custom-make a guitar for the individual player who can specify body shape, colour, decorative inlays and be involved in the selection of premium tone woods.

Vanns Pull into Bruns
