Menacing dog declaration revoked

After an emotional deputation from the owner of the dog involved, Ballina Shire Council has this morning revoked a menacing dog declaration for the kelpie Lilo, which was brought into effect following a bite in July 2022.

A Nimbin woman will appear in the Grafton Local Court today after being allegedly found with a stash of drugs and cash.

Police said the 26-year-old was stopped at a service station on the Pacific Highway at South Grafton about 12.20am on Monday.

She was allegedly found to be in possession of 12.2 grams of crystal methylamphetamine (ice), one gram of cocaine, one MDMA tablet and an amount of money believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Police also allegedly located drug paraphernalia associated with the use and supply of prohibited drugs.

The woman was charged with: Supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug x 3, deal with the proceeds of crime, possess equipment to administer prohibited drug.

She was bail refused to Grafton Local Court today.

Police said the potential street value of the drugs was over $10,000.
