Two bushwalkers were winched to safety from a cliff face at Mt Burrell in the southern part of the Tweed Valley yesterday afternoon.
The men were trapped on a narrow ridge on the northwestern face of the mountain near Nimbin after losing their way on a trek from Mt Nardi to Blue Knob across the Nightcap National Park.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter came to their aid after the men called Triple-0 on a mobile phone saying they were exhausted and had lost their way.
They were taken on board and taken to the helicopter base.
