Kingscliff police have arrested a group of people they believe are responsible for stealing property from construction sites and unsecured vehicles in the area.
The arrests were made after police paid a visit to a holiday accommodation place south of Kingscliff in relation to reports of a stolen motorcycle.
Police recovered other items including computers, tables, phones, and a generator and a compressor.
While police were making inquiries at the location, one of the male offenders jumped from a third story balcony in an attempt to escape.
The man was quickly caught after a brief foot pursuit and taken to the Tweed Heads police station.
He was charged with numerous offences including possession of a prohibited weapon, prohibited drugs, and motor vehicle theft.
Two motorcycles, a Suzuki and a Kawasaki, are still missing.
The man was refused bail after pleading not guilty to charges and will appear in court again in the new year.
A second man was also charged with property and drug offences, while two women at the scene were issued with court attendance notices after quantities of drugs were found in their possession.
The women will attend Tweed Heads Local Court on 9 January.
