Backsliders coming to Lennox

Australian music legends the Backsliders are coming to Lennox Head for the first time, to play at the Lennox Head Cultural Centre on Saturday 26 June 2021.

Graeme Wilkins, Alstonville

The idiots who organised the doof party at Wilson’s Creek, and the idiots who attended, should be totally ashamed of themselves… but they won’t be. They’ll just line up for medical care if their lack of social distancing and personal responsibility results in the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

It’s a pity police resources would not permit fines for everyone involved… or a 14-day quarantine on the doof party property. Just imagine the squeals from the idiots if those penalties could have been imposed.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. It is beyond comprehension. What I also can’t believe is that there has been no public education campaign when this seems to be what’s necessary to get a wide section of the community to take something seriously – think drink driving, slip slop slap, the grim reaper, life be in it etc, etc, etc – all have generally been really effective. This is surely a federal government responsibility and would double as a form of economic stimulus.

At least one person currently in ICU in Victoria is under 30 and at that stage of the illness survival Is usually accompanied by long-term infirmity we’re. We all need something that reminds us that our actions don’t have implications for just us but that self interest also mitigates against catching this virus.
