Margrette Young, Dorroughby

PM Morrison this week called someone ‘gutless’ on public television.

I’ll tell you who’s gutless Mr Morrison. Look in the mirror. Look in the mirror at the man who turned up in Lismore after the devastating floods and instead of fronting the public and the press to provide much needed leadership and answer questions he scurried away, highly NON-visible, without talking to ANY of the community, and he refused to have an open press conference to answer any questions.

Gutless? I’d say extremely gutless.

Oh, but he managed to have a ‘private’ meeting – on taxpayers’ money – with only a few individuals.

Shame, Mr Morrison, shame.

Premier Perrottet on the other hand had the leadership wherewithal to meet the press and to meet the community to answer questions. In fact, he did this several times in the days he spent here. He did what is normally expected of a leader.

I know who is gutless.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. We all know that ScoMo is gutless. As his ’employers’ – that’s right, we gave
him the position he now flaunts along with his ‘party members’. We goofed
[well, I didn’t vote him in but other hopefuls did] & many now live with the
disgrace of it all. The times need to change, & how. Never again to get
spooked by a [rent a salesman] who sniffs gas & coal for the fun of it &
kicks his sometime followers in the guts.

  2. The Liar from the Shire, Gutless Wonder….the trifecta of character assessment can’t be far away.
But why wait when we have it all from his own side of politics, those that know him very well – .Michael Towke , Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, Catherine Cusack, Geoff Provest, Barnaby Joyce, Gladys Berejiklian, Julia Banks, Brittany Higgins.

The dud shows up in Lismore, gets to work with his giant squeegee mopping along on a pristine indoor floor as devastated locals are in actually muck cleaning out their homes.
Who even thinks that sort of stunt is appropriate let alone actually do it.
The dud has no empathy, just the opposite, insulting locals with his squeegee and broom photo op antics.
And then the gall, to make his Lismore escape out the back door so he wouldn’t have to meet awaiting locals.

    Shame, Morrison, Shame.

  3. Right on, Joachim. Now he’s staked-up [illegally] for ‘the vote’. if
we don’t know what counts now we never will. Sadistic times
    are everywhere.

  4. What meet a bunch of hypocritical activists
Waiving no fossil fuel banners !! All of them
Never had a fossil fuel free day in their lives..
Should Morrison had listened to some local’s
Absolutely.. not rent a crowd losers .. !!

  5. Hey captain planet Joachim.. did your Guru
Dud Brandt show up in Lismore ? The Greens
The party of empathy and compassion what a load of crap .. all you do Joachim is constantly whine
never had a positive thing to say about this current
Government.. this country had come through the
Pandemic better than any other in the world ..
Okay Ms want to be perfect..provide one example
Just ONE of a Greens policy that had made a difference in this country ?? Election coming up ?
Give a example of a Greens policy that will benefit
All Australians ? Do not include Climate change
    Nonsense as a answer either .. !!

  6. I really wish Albo would take a cue from Julia … perhaps: I will not be lectured about cowardice by this man – not now not ever. If he wants to know what gutless looks like he just needs a mirror.

  7. Liz levy..in 1970 by the year 2000 we are going to be in a ice age ..and those very same scientists in 2000
Snow will be a thing of the past … the science is
Settled !! Please .. the fires , the floods have not one thing to do with climate change..or should i say fossil fuels.. because this is what this nonsense is all about with these stupid activists never been about so called warming .. all about decarbonising
Yet 2000 years ago the roman warm period
Pre industrialisation it was 1.3 to 1.5 degrees warmer than current day temperatures.. how is this remotely possible no fossil fuels..? Still waiting
You are a woman right ? Could you please explain
The definition of a Women ?

      • Joachim you have gone missing ?
How did your Guru Dud Brandt
Arrive into the northern rivers ?
It’s a climate emergency and this FW
Hypocrite is circumnavigating around the country in fossil fuel planes.. Morrison as much as uses the wrong pronouns and you and your greeny lefty come down on him hard.. contrary to what you lot want to believe this country is doing wonderful
Best turn economic turnaround in 70 years
Even after the Pandemic.. Labors No1 policy
Pitch for the election JOBS JOBS JOBS ..
Yet when asked a simple question about Australia’s jobless rate 🤔 well the rest is history and this bloke wants to be the Prime Minister.. yep you will back him in Joachim
Why well he is not a conservative.. as for your
God Brandt ..labor if they win will not be a majority therefore Brandt warned if you want our preferences you will put a moratorium
On Gas & iron ore projects.. uh how good are the greens so compassionate.. it those projects are hijacked by the greens ..say goodby to welfare .. Australia’s No1 tax revenue the resources industries..

  8. I was around in the 70s too Barrow – yes there was talk of entering an ice age. There were also plenty of scientists observing the trend to warming with some believing the two trends coexisted and were mitigating each other. This is an old red herring. The data for warming exists and it’s perhaps more than coincidental that the predictions for worse and more frequent, floods droughts and wild fires are playing out.

What’s a woman? Just cause I is one doesn’t mean I can give you a precise definition, Barrow – I told you that. And it matters because?

It’s beyond my pay grade and a little more complicated than just X and Y chromosomes. How do you define someone born with characteristics of both sexes? There is an old (1979) but fascinating BBC documentary “The Fight to be Male” which explores the complexities of pre birth gender determination. I think you’ll still find it on YouTube. Watch it and get back to me.

      • This letter is about the PM’s character. Is there some question pertaining to his gender – or gender identity?

Sorry but I’ve completely lost the point of this exchange.

However you seem to be the expert here Barrow, perhaps you could enlighten us a precise definitions of “woman”.

  9. Barry, I was being far from complementary Re; ScoMo. Barrow [here we go again]
if you don’t know what a woman is . . . defined or no, is fine by me.
