Two new dog parks have opened to the public in Mullumbimby in time for Christmas, one for small dogs and the other for large dogs.
Both parks are on the town’s southern end, near Mullumbimby’s skatepark and netball and tennis court precint.
Dogs are allowed off-leash in the fenced parks.
Byron Shire Council Coordinator Open Spaces Jim Roberts says the parks are the shire’s first and have been funded through a federal government grant.
The Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program reportedly awarded more than $10,000 to the project.
to think that this is the shire’s first dog parks., we are meant to be an ecologically minded council
council spends all the money on doing up nice reports about saving wildlife
what an absolute shambles
Good to see protection for larger dogs away from yappy little dogs.
