Updated, 7.20pm: Ocean Shores woman Selena Collinson, who went missing in the New Brighton area on the weekend has been located.

The 20-year-old was last seen leaving a home on Orana Road, Ocean Shores, about 12.30pm on Saturday (September 300.

About 6.15pm Monday (October 2), and after a full day of searching by emergency services and volunteer rescue organisations, Ms Collinson was located safe and well by a family member.

Police have thanked all the volunteers including members of SES, VRA, Marine Rescue and Surf Rescue, as well as community and the media for their assistance.

Original report: A search party has been combing the New Brighton area this morning looking for any signs of missing Ocean Shores woman Selena Collinson.

Ms Collinson, aged 20, was last seen leaving a home on Orana Road, Ocean Shores, about 12.30pm last Saturday (September 30).

Ms Collinson left the home in a white Mazda 3, with NSW registration DKU24J. The vehicle was located about 8.30am yesterday, Sunday October 1, at the end of Ocean Avenue, New Brighton.

Her whereabouts are unknown and police have concerns for her welfare.

The ground search for Ms Collinson lead by emergency services began at 8am this morning in the area where her car is parked.

Brunswick Valley VRA, SES, Tweed-Byron police, Brunswick Head Surf Life Saving Club and Marine Rescue have all joined the search.

Sue Biggar, of Brunswick Valley VRA, told Echonetdaily, ‘We’re basically going from old Wooyung track through to the North Wall and Marshalls Creek and New Brighton Rd.

In a Facebook plea, friend and housemate Tay Lucas said that  Selena didn’t come home on Saturday night. ‘Her car has been found locked up and parked in New Brighton behind the New Brighton Shop,’ said Tay. ‘She hasn’t been seen since yesterday afternoon and her phone isn’t working.

‘It is very out of character for her and the police have been contacted.’

Selena, who lives as Myocum, is described as Caucasian appearance, 168cm tall, thin build, with long blonde hair which is normally in a bun, hazel coloured eyes, a mole on her right cheek, and an ‘infinity’ tattoo on the inside of her right ankle.

She was last seen wearing black Lorna Jane pants, black joggers and a white/grey coloured jacket.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.
