The CSIRO is holding a free, ten-week online program open to small to medium enterprises currently working in the plastics or recycling industry, or looking to offer new technology or solutions relating to waste management.
CSIRO conducts award-winning plastics research in both marine and terrestrial environments, pioneering the recycling industry by optimizing recycling technologies and systems in Australia and beyond with their Ending Plastic Waste Mission.
Together with the government and industry, CSIRO plans to reduce plastic waste by 80 per cent by 2030. Currently, only 12.4 per cent of plastic waste is recycled in Australia, out of more than one million tonnes of plastic waste produced annually.
145,000 tons of plastic
About 145,000 tons of plastic finds its way into our environment each year, which has a devastating effect on our local wildlife and ecosystems.
The solution lies in collaboration between researchers and enterprises to provide innovation and technologies in plastic sectors worldwide.
Commencing on 7 September, CSIRO’s free program will help assess the viability of your innovation, as well as make informed business decisions as to whether the Research and Design course is right for you.
Limited spots remain, and registrations close on 14 August. To register, go to https://www.csiro.au/
