Driver charged following Coffs Harbour fatal crash

A driver has been charged following a fatal crash in the Coffs Harbour area yesterday.

A man has died when his car left the road and hit a tree near Lennox Head on the afternoon of Saturday, 23 December.

Emergency services were called to The Coast Road, 4km south of Lennox Head, about 2.35pm (Saturday 23 December 2023), and found the driver suffering multiple injuries.

The Westpac1 Helicopter was despatched to assist; however, the man died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

An investigation is now underway by officers attached to Richmond Police District.
