Nimbin has had the level 2 water restrictions lifted with a Lismore City Council (LCC) however, the Rural Boil Water Alert remains in place.

‘The Nimbin community’s efforts to conserve water and the recent rainfall have made this positive development possible,’ a spokepsperson for LCC said in a press release.

The D.E. Williams Dam has returned to total capacity and under LCC’s Drought Management Plan.

‘The recent rain has been beneficial, however we owe this achievement to the Nimbin community’s dedication to responsible water usage, which has allowed us to restore the D. E. Williams Dam to full capacity,’ said Lismore City Council Manager Water and Wastewater Tom Lloyd.

‘Current data indicates that we are well-prepared to maintain stable dam levels for the foreseeable future, even with removing restrictions. Water is a precious resource, and we encourage all members of our community to continue to use it responsibly.’

Council will continue to monitor dam levels, water consumption and weather patterns over the coming months. Should circumstances change, water restrictions may be reintroduced to safeguard the water supply.

If you have questions about the Nimbin Bulk Water Filling Station, please refer to the Rous County Council.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Lismore City Council on 6625 0500.
