Students of the visual arts degree at Southern Cross University in Lismore celebrated their graduation on Friday with an exhibition of their works.
The TRANSIT exhibition provides the undergraduate artists with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements by showcasing their final works to invited arts industry experts, their families, friends and the general public.
Organisers said TRANSIT was a chance to see and purchase work early in the careers of these artists, some of whom were already well on their way to acclaim with sales to public and private collections.
The works include painting, drawing, digital art, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, installation and film – reflecting the diversity of visual arts studies available through the University’s School of Arts and Social Sciences.
The exhibition, in the Visual Arts Block (V Block) near the university’s Kellas Street entrance, continues until Friday 31 October and is open from 10am to 4pm daily (closed Sundays).
An exhibition of the work of Honours students will go on display on Friday 21 November, with the exhibition running until 28 November.
Following are some pictures from the evening.
I feel so privilaged to have had this wonderful experience with such great people! Thank’s to everyone who came along and supported us!
